Business casual is the best of both worlds. Spotted only a few steps from my front door.
To say Chriselle Lim is someone I look up to would be an understatement. Aside from her obvious outward beauty, she is a strong and hard-working woman who has definitely risen to the top of her game. Did I mention she has a husband and toddler, too?
At last week’s Armani Box blogger event, I got to meet Chriselle. (Yay.) After hearing all about her skincare routine and philosophy, the floor was open for questions. So, I had a chance to ask about something I struggle with. How do you balance personal life with work life? Working from home and being self-employed seems really glamorous. And, people assume it is a charmed life. I won’t lie, there are definitely perks. But, when your success is built by your own hands, sometimes it’s hard to slow down and nearly impossible to step back.
After stating that my question was one of her favorite topics to address (Eeeee!) Chriselle admitted that work-life balance is nearly impossible to maintain. Despite it’s popularity, she said she grew away from the frequently used term. Instead, she realized it is more like a work-life seesaw. When one side is up, the other might be down. She jokingly shared, “You can have it all, just not at the same time.”
othing compares to the images achieved when sketching from life. Going to figure drawing sessions is sometimes daunting, but always rewarding. At times, it feels a bit like a chore – going to the gym or doing laundry. And, in some ways it is. However, once I get going, I’m energized and so glad I showed up.
Temperatures are dropping. Clinging to your sandals and easy slides? I think these mostly closed shoes are a great solution! Hold on to the last bits of summer with every ounce of strength!
Also, can we talk about how effortless and easy this look is? NYC women have great style, indeed. I can’t remember if this was a dress or separates. Personally, I like the idea of combining two pieces for maximum comfort and wardrobe versatility!

I heard it’s going to hit eighty degrees this weekend. If you haven’t hit the beach this summer, it could be your last chance. For those of you in the tri-state area, allow me to suggest the Asbury Hotel for your weekend getaway.
This summer VNg and I decided to plan a weekend trip down the shore. Clocking in at less than an hour by car (a bit longer by train), Asbury Park is just far enough from Manhattan.
I loved my stay at the Asbury Hotel. And, we had a blast despite the rainy weather. The hotel offered a lot of diversions like pool (the game), pinball, live music, an around-the-clock bar, rooftop movies, and a cute pool (the water.)
Did you stock up on swimwear when everything was marked down last week (like me)? Well, this weekend may be your last chance!! (:
