Most Thursdays, I argue with myself about doing the “right” thing. Should I drag myself into the city for the Society of Illustrators‘ fashion sketch night? Orrrrrr, should I stay home/get drinks with friends/have dinner with VNg/binge Netflix? (I think this is an appropriate place to use #thestruggleisreal ?)
Last week, however, I’m so glad I convinced myself to be disciplined and go. Couture milliner Heather Huey graciously lent out several of her beautiful creations. Fashion illustration icon Bil Donovan moderated the session. What more could you ask for?
It was also really inspiring being around so many talented illustrators, seeing their techniques, their materials, and varying approaches.
I did my best to capture the fabulous models and the stunning hats. There are way more misses than hits, here are a few of my favorites.
Do you use any tricks to stay disciplined?
Please, teeeellllllll me.
