Hi friends, happy Wednesday. You know it’s sad when you wake up and are excited to see the temperature at 40 degrees (like I did today.) The past few days in New York City have been excruciatingly cold (aggravated further by the fact that I’ve been foolishly underdressing.) Add to that some mounting stress at work and I’ve been longing for a warm weather getaway and the chance to wear anything other than pants and snow boots.

Today’s fashion illustration isn’t 100% out of my closet; rather a mix of my pieces with some things I wish I had. But, I think it’s easily duplicated with pieces you probably have in your own closet.

What do you think, ready to wear this look at the oceanside? Where are you dreaming of being right now?

A mariner tee is (in my opinion) a wardrobe essential. The stripes and shape are eternally chic and bring to mind effortless Parisian-style. It compliments any bottom, in this case a maxi skirt. And, since it’s been freezing, I can’t think of any idea more appealing than flashing a little skin with a daring side-slit.

The floppy hat continues its time in the spotlight as a strong trend. And, it seems to perfectly complete the ensemble when paired with some espadrilles or cork wedges.

I had a lot of fun working on this sketch and technique-wise – I’m trying to push myself out of my comfort zone.

I hope you like today’s post and the illustration! Thank you so much for viewing!
