Happy New Year, everyone!

I’m so excited about today’s post because I recently replenished my skin care stock and I’ve been sticking to my regimen pretty religiously (so far.)

It’s no secret that Koreans make some pretty good beauty and skin products. (Refinery29 / Allure) And, while there is one Japanese item on my list – I mainly stick to my motherland’s offerings for “the 10 steps.” (For more details on the routine, I like this write-up from Into the Gloss.)

Here are my ten, illustrated of course.

10 Steps of Korean Skincare

1.) Cleansing Wipes $ innisfree
I use these EVERY night. They feel great, smell great, and remove all makeup (even the tough stuff.) These are a must-have no matter your routine!

2.) Cleansing Oil $$ Shu Uemura Ultime8 Sublime Beauty
I’ve been using this for years and I can’t praise it enough. I understand why it’s a best-seller.

3.) Exfoliate $ Skinfood Black Sugar Mask
A few of my friends recommended this and I am joining the bandwagon. It may look gross, but has a wonderful aroma, and makes your skin super soft!

4.) Toner (Softener) $$ Hera White Program Radiance Water
For steps 4,5, 6, and 9 it’s easy to stick to the one brand/line. I’ve tried a few and here are my faves: $$ Iope, $ Laneige (available at Target!), $$ Sulwhasoo

5.) Serum/Essence $ Laneige White Plus Renew
I just ran out of my Laneige, so I switched to Missha Super Aqua Intensive Serum which my lovely friend (thanks, YJK!) sent me from Korea. It’s great, but sadly, it’s hard to come by in the States. (So far, I’ve only seen it on eBay.)

6.) Ampoule $ Iope Brightgen
Currently, my main steps are from the “Brightgen” line. (These even out skin tone and brighten complexion.) If you prefer targeting dry skin, Laneige’s Water Bank line is especially great.

7.) Sheet Mask (1-2/week) $ innisfree
innisfree is really one of my favorite Korean brands. They are a natural-focused brand and use some organic ingredients. Their face masks are my favorites and I love the varieties they offer.

8.) Eye Cream $$ AmorePacific Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Eye Treatment Gel
Two years ago my friend told me “the best eye cream she ever tried” was this. I got it and never looked back. I even use it in the morning if I didn’t get enough sleep.

9.) Emulsion (Moisturizer) $$ Sulwhasoo Essential Balancing Emulsion
A new friend (yay) is also a ten-step lover. We went shopping together and thanks to her equally over-zealous purchases, I got a sample set of her faves, Sulwhasoo! It is an amazing option especially if your concern is moisturizing.

10.) Night Cream $ Laneige Firming Sleeping Pack
This is an “update” to a tried and true favorite. This step is so important, especially during winter when skin dries out. (Target carries the original gangster, Water Bank Gel Cream.)

So there: my ten steps! (Even if some nights I only do a couple of the steps – it’s great to have this arsenal at my disposal.)

How about you, do you prescribe to this method? Do you have a favorite product? Was your New Year’s Resolution to take better care of your skin? (Are you going to Korea soon? Want to bring me back some presents?!)

Haha, thanks for reading, everyone. See you next Wednesday!
