We’ve had a couple of warmer days this week, but I’m no fool… In the blink of an eye it will be the arctic circle again. Today’s fashion illustrations are all about fun winter accessories (to wear & carry.) For some reason I gravitate toward dark colors when it’s cold. To remedy: I add colors and levels with deep textures. I love marled winter-wear. I also think “the faux-fur collar” is a great piece (when at the right price. Lucky for you, Madewell has theirs on sale!)
I love injecting bold colors with accessories. It’s a risk-free way to experiment and have fun. (If they go out of style next year, you don’t feel to bad donating gloves vs. say, a $200 candy-colored coat.) I’m still into red-wine hues and I can’t get enough of this turquoise.
Of course, accessories are more than a hat and scarf. When I got my first job, I was so excited to bring my own mug to work. (In my opinion, anything adding personality to the cubicle is a plus.) I love all these office items at Madewell (especially this pencil — which was stolen from me while I was sketching in Chicago’s Field Museum. Sad face.) Rebecca Minkoff & Kate Spade hit the nail on the head with their colorful and cheeky items. I can’t get enough of the sassy cases; when the sun sets at 5pm — I’ll take anything that adds an extra smile to my day.
Thanks for viewing! I hope you liked today’s fashion illustrations.
