Hello everyone and happy Monday!!  Finally a new post!  I’ve been busy with a lot of freelance work (can’t complain) so I didn’t have a chance to update this weekend.  Sorry!!

I’m making up for it with an extra stylized illustration.  The purpose of this blog was to help me remember and plan outfits with items in my wardrobe.  Each item sketched out flat is the best way for me to do this.  But, the other purpose of Sketchbook Closet is to exercise my illustration skills.  So for today’s piece I really wanted to stretch my legs and do something more fun and loose.

Last Friday I had to go to the orthodontist and it is a massive trek.  I also prepare for laying the dentist’s chair for one to two hours.  It helps to be extra comfy on these days.  It was cold out so I bundled up with my super warm puffer coat and infinity scarf.

For comfort, you can’t fail with jeans.  These are my new pair of American Eagle Outfitters skinny stretch denim.  My friend and I joked that we hadn’t bought jeans there since high school but honestly, I like the fit, stretch, price and quality.  They offer short sizes which is key (for me at only 5′).

If you live in a place where you walk a lot (like New York or SF) then you’ll understand why I love heels that are under three inches.  These little booties are incredibly comfortable plus have a rubber grip sole (great for ice/rain/slush).  They also have a fun sherpa detail.

So there you have it.  My easy outfit as an easy-going illustration.  What do you think?
